Prayer

Prayer is very much at the heart and soul of our community.

We come together each day for Morning (7.30 am), Midday (12.45 pm) and Evening (5.00 pm) Prayer. Silent meditation follows Evening prayer. If you are on a residential retreat you would be very welcome to join us in our daily prayer.

There are also weekly groups held at the House of Prayer which seek to deepen our relationship to God.

CENTERING PRAYER GROUP

Led by Sister Anne

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer, following the teaching of Father Thomas Keating, which prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship.

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION

Stillness, Silence, Simplicity. A way that leads us into the centre of our being to discover the spiritual reality of God. This group follows the teaching of Father John Main OSB and is part of the World Community for Christian Meditation which is a contemporary, contemplative community and welcomes people of any tradition or none. Please drop in anytime.
Every Saturday from 10.30 – 11.30am
Every Monday from 7.30 – 8.30pm

The group is charismatic, open to the gifts of the Holy Spirit. There is a time of shared prayer, scripture, teaching, hymns and silent prayer. It is open to Christians who seek to be part of a praying community.
