Exploring the Interior Castle: A soul's journey towards transformation

  • The House of Prayer 35 Seymour Road East Molesey United Kingdom (map)

Led by Alison MacTier

St Teresa of Avila was a sixteenth-century Spanish Carmelite nun, mystic and reformer, renowned for her spiritual writings and mystical experiences.

The Interior Castle, one of St Teresa's most well-known writings, is a wonderful way of exploring and developing our spiritual life, starting from our first steps towards prayer, to practising different approaches to meditation, contemplation and ultimately to a sense of total union with God. It is a personal journey inward towards a God that dwells within the soul.

During this day we will explore the seven mansions of The Interior Castle using Scripture, poetry, prayer, images, art and music to help us understand more deeply this journey of transformation.

Please bring a packed lunch. Starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm.

Cost: £35

Cost including B&B (Friday - Saturday): £110

Alison is Director of the Retreat Association, a spiritual director, supervisor and leads regular quiet days and retreats.
