The Sisters of the Christian Retreat and the House of Prayer are committed to fostering a culture of safeguarding, for the care and safety of its visitors, staff, and volunteers. The Sisters of the Christian Retreat and the House of Prayer subscribe to the safeguarding policy and procedures for safeguarding as outlined by the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (CSSA). The Charity recognises that its spiritual directors and accompaniers are privileged with the confidence of the people who benefit from their ministry.

This statement outlines the responsibility of our employees and volunteers, including spiritual directors acting on behalf of the House of Prayer, to report any disclosures of abuse to the Religious Life Safeguarding Service (RLSS). If you have any questions or concerns about the procedure outlined in this statement, please contact the Safeguarding Lead at the House of Prayer.

Safe Spaces

Safe Spaces is a free and independent support service, providing a confidential, personal and safe space for anyone who has been abused by someone in the Church or as a result of their relationship with the Church of England, the Catholic Church in England and Wales or the Church in Wales.
