Making Space for Advent: An Ignatian day of prayer, reflection and Advent waiting

  • The House of Prayer 35 Seymour Road East Molesey United Kingdom (map)

Led by Sarah van Wely

A gentle day of retreat and reflection as we pause before the busyness of December — a day to breathe, to notice, and to receive.

As Advent begins, we are invited into a different rhythm: a rhythm of waiting, attentiveness and hope. This retreat offers an opportunity to step away from the demands and distractions of everyday life and make space to become more attentive to God's presence, both within us and around us.

Drawing on the Ignatian invitation to ‘Find God in all Things’, the day will have a gentle rhythm of guided prayer and shared reflection, and will offer suggestions to support periods of personal prayer. There will be time simply to be — to be with God, to be with ourselves, and to notice what is stirring within us as we enter this season of waiting and preparation.

As we make space for Advent, we might ponder:
• What do I need to receive?
• What do I need to let go of?
• What helps me stay attentive to God in busy times?
• How can I respond to the invitation to wait in the coming weeks?

Make space to breathe. Make space to notice. Make space to receive. Make space to be.

Please bring a packed lunch. Starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm.

Cost: £35

Cost including B&B (Friday - Saturday): £110
