Led by Dr Rebecca Stephens
As an apophatic theologian and an orator of remarkable skill, Eckhart always spoke with respect for the power of words, and a natural suspicion of how they may be misused and misunderstood - most particularly of how easily we can deceive ourselves.
Eckhart is a profoundly compassionate and practical teacher and frequently preaches expressing concern with how people pray. His care comes from a desire to open each soul up to awakening and finding union with God: ‘All creatures want to utter God’, he tells us in Sermon 53.
Over this day of talks, prayers and reflection we will explore what Meister Eckhart has to counsel us about how we may pray in a way that honours both the divine and our own best intentions.
Please bring a packed lunch. Starts at 10am and finishes at 4pm.
Cost: £35
Cost including B&B (Friday - Saturday): £110
