Led by Jill Benet
We are called to live ever more fully. In his final poem entitled What Matters, Fr Thomas Keating says:
Only the Divine matters,
And because the Divine matters,
Everything matters.
The Divine is present in all aspects of our lives. It’s the air we breathe, and yet we forget. This weekend, we are invited to enter a rhythm of silence, reflection and rest, and to be open to Divine Presence, noticing it's call and what gets in the way.
The retreat will weave together extended periods of Centering Prayer, shared silence, teachings from the Christian contemplative tradition, optional 1:1 sessions, and space for personal reflection and creativity. Whether you are a beginner establishing your Centering Prayer practice or returning to deepen it, this retreat invites you to rest in the quiet ground of being — to be open to the Divine not through effort, but through presence.
Arrive in time for supper at 7pm on Friday and depart by 3pm on Sunday.
Cost: Standard: £240; En-suite: £260
Jill Benet has been part of Contemplative Outreach for many years and studied under its founder, Fr. Thomas Keating. She co-founded Silence in the City, a series of talks exploring the contemplative life, and has worked with teachers including Cynthia Bourgeault, James Finley, and Richard Rohr. She leads Centering Prayer groups, Introductory Days, Quiet Days, and retreats. Jill is also a trained teacher and guide in Inner Relationship Focusing, a practice of deep inner listening. She finds renewal in painting and nature. Her work is rooted in the belief that prayer and creativity are not separate from life — they are ways of living it more fully.
